Each year, Shelby Energy Cooperative sends students from our service area to participate in both the Frankfort and Washington D.C. Youth Tours. High school Juniors served by Shelby Energy may apply.
Frankfort Youth Tour takes place in March each year. Students tour Kentucky's capitol and the Governor's mansion and learn how cooperatives, like Shelby Energy Cooperative, and our political leaders can work together to benefit our members.
Washington D.C. Youth Tour is a week-long trip that will take place June 14-20, 2019. Selected participants will visit Washinton D.C. to learn about our nation's history, rural electrification and visit national monuments while making new friends from across the country.
Shelby Energy Cooperative's student representatives for the 2019 Washington, D.C. Youth Tour will be Kailey Kays of Henry County High School, Kendall Bingham of Shelby County High School, and Hayley Snelling of Trimble County High School.
